~1325, Agnes born in England, d/o 2954694. Peter de la Mare & 2954695. Joan ?. (S) IPM of Agnes: Her brother Robert s/o Peter, born ~1321, acquired the manor of Berwick St. James, Wiltshire, for life in 1361, the year Agnes died.

5/30/1332, Reginald de Pavely, knight, and John his son, knight, acknowledge that they owe to John son of John de Goldyngham of Chikewell, co. Essex, 80 marks; to be levied, in default of payment, of their lands and chattels in co. Berks. (S) CCRs.

1/24/1327, Edward III, age 14, succeeded Edward II as King of England.

~1330, John first married Elizabeth Grimstead.

Agnes first married John Foretel [Forstel].

1341, Licence for the foundation of a chantry at the altar of the Virgin Mary in the parish church granted to William of Grimstead. To endow this William gave land in Westbury, Bratton, Westbury Leigh, and Heywood for the support of a chaplain to pray daily for him and his wife, Alice, and for Sir John Pavely, and his wife and ancestors. 2/15/1347, John’s father died.

2/18/1347, IPM of Reginald de Pavely. Wilts: Westbury. The manor (extent given), with its members, viz. Brok and Haneddynghull, held of the king in chief by knight’s service. He died on 15 February, 21 Edward III. John de Pavely, knight, his son, aged 40 years, is his heir.

2/26/1347, Order to John de Roches, escheator in the county of Wilts, to deliver to John de Pavely, son and heir of Reynold de Pavely, tenant in chief, the lands late of his said father, he having done fealty, and the king having respited his homage until the king's return to England. (S) CFRs.

2/27/1347 at Reading, John de Pavely, knight, acknowledges that he owes to William de Newenham, clerk, 5 marks; to be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels in co. Wilts. (S) CCRs. [Cancelled on payment.]

10/25/1361 at Salisbury, IPM of Agnes late the wife of John de Pavely. Wilts: Stepullavynton. A messuage … held for life in joint feoffment with John Forstel, her first husband, of the inheritance of Robert Forstel, brother and heir of the said John. … She died on 5 October last. Robert de la Mare (b.1321) her brother, aged 40 years and more, is her heir … but the reversion of the premises belongs to Robert Forestel, brother and heir of the aforesaid John Forestel, aged 40 vears and more. 11/3/1361, Order to the escheator in the county of Wilts. to take into the king’s hand the lands whereof John Pavely, who held in chief, was seised in his desmesne as of fee on the day of his death. (S) CFRs.

11/26/1361, Order to the escheator in the county of Wilts, pursuant to an inquisition made by him showing that Agnes late the wife of John de Pavely did not hold any lands in the county in her demesne as of fee, but held for life, in joint feoffment with John Foretell, her first husband, deceased, a messuage and 2 carucates of land in Stepillavynton, of the inheritance of Robert Forstell, brother and heir of her said first husband, who is of full age, with reversion to the said Robert and his heirs, and that the premises are held in chief by knight service,—to deliver the premises to Robert, as the king has taken his homage and fealty. 12/1/1361 at Salisbury, IPM of John Pavely. Wilts: Westbury. The manor with its hamlets … Dycherygge. A messuage … He died on 21 October last. Alice his daughter by Elizabeth, his first wife, married to John de Seintlow the younger, who survives, outlived him by half a day. She and John de Seintlow had lawful issue, who survive, to wit, Joan aged 11 years, Elizabeth aged 8 years, and Ela aged 6 years, who, with Joan daughter of the said John Pavely by Agnes his second wife, aged 8 years, are his heirs. 1/21/1362, Parition between John de Seintlou, the younger, who married Alice, tenant by the courtesy of England by reason of issue between him and the said Alice, and Joan, the other of the daughters of the said John Pavely, born of Agnes his second wife, a minor in the king’s wardship, in the presence of the aforesaid John de Seintlou and others. 2/1/1363, Commitment to Richard Urdelee of the wardship of 13 acres of land … in Westbury late of Bogo Waryn, who held by knight service of the heir of John Pavely [Joan], a minor in the king's ward, … (S) CFRs.

Alice married John de Saint Lo (Seintlou).

10/21/1361, Alice died. 3 daughters: Joan (b.1350, married John Chidiok the younger), Elizabeth (b.1353, d.by1375) & Ela (b.1355, married ? de Bradeston).

11/20/1361, John de Seintlou holding the purparty of his daughter’s lands by  the courtesy of England.

11/20/1368, End of a long lawsuit by Alice’s sister Joan and her husband over the 1361 division of lands names Alice’s husband and daughters, and that she was deceased in 1361. (S) CCRs.

11/8/1375, John de Sancto Laudo, knight, died. (S) CIsPM.
