·         The evidence for Joan’s ancestry is circumstantial, but sufficient for a proposal.

·         1293, Peter de la Haye, brother of John de la Haye, and maternal uncle of Eustache Fitz Ralph (2498739), d/o (4997479) Joan de la Haye; died leaving a daughter Joan (b.1289), age 20, heiress of her uncle John de la Haye of lands in Sussex. 7/11/1316, Commitment to John de la Haye of the wardship of 2 parts of the lands late of the same Simon Darches, extended at £12 6s 6d a year by the escheator on this side Trent, until the full age of Richard, son and heir of Simon, at the rent of £14 a year. (S) CFRs.
