Robert de Wykham sued Thomas Wake [Wale] and Nicholaa, his wife, and Giles de
Arderne for the next presentation to the church of Swalclyve. Robert de Wykham,
the father of the plaintiff, had given the manor and advowson to John de
Ardene, and John had enfeoffed Robert de Wykham and Exizabeth his wife –

1366, Sir Giles holding of Drayton disputed by Elizabeth of
Swinford, who claimed possession as the descendant of Sir Thomas Arden of
Hanwell and Rose Vernon. [The defence asserted that her ‘Thomas’ was a bastard
