1274, A jury found that Robert de Sutton held a manor in
Sutton of Wiscard de Charron and his heirs; he held likewise Warsop and
Eykering, &c. he was son of William Sutton, son of Roland.
8/6/1274, Order to the escheator beyond Trent to deliver to
Joan, late the wife of Robert de Sutton, deceased, tenant in chief, the manor
of Ekering, extended at £10 23d, the manor of Alverton, extended at £8 16s 2.5d,
and the manor of Cotum, extended at £12 14s 4d, to hold in dower of the lands late of the
said Robert, saving to the king 62s 4.75d of land yearly in the manor of Cotum
