1/6/1485, Leopold canonized as the Patron Saint of
Austria, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, and Vienna. Leopold’s feast day is Nov.
15th. Mainly remembered for the founding of monasteries at
Klosterneuburg, Heiligenkreuz, Kleinmariazell and Seitenstetten.
1663, Emperor Leopold I decalred Leopold as the Patron
Saint of Austria at Klosterneuburg. On that day, at St. Stephen's Cathedral the
brothers Joseph and Michael Haydn, each of whom sang in the choir [Joseph the
famous composer.]
