A capital messuage …  held of Ralph de Goushill his uncle by foreign service … Isabel de Fortibus, countess of Albemarle, asserting that the wardship of the land and heir of the said Peter pertained to her by reason of her dower. … The said Peter died in the king's homage by reason of the inheritance of William de Fortibus, sometime [3rd] earl of Albemarle; but he died in fealty of the said countess of the manor of Cocdyk in Gedeneye, … and the same Peter after the death of Giles de Goushull, his father, made relief to the countess … (S) CIsPM.

[Earl William [2nd] of Albemarle married Aveline, d/o 47282026. Baron Richard de Montfichet. Aveline’s son, William, 3rd earl of Alblemarle, had a daughter Aveline (d.1273-74) who was married [briefly] to Edmund of Lancaster (11819892), s/o King Henry III. By timeline, Peter is a grandson of either Philippa de Montfichet (243380993) (b.~1201) or Margaret de Montfichet (23641013) (b.by1203); the heiresses of Aveline the younger.]
