7/10/1360, Writ to the escheator in Sussex to assign dower to Joan, late the wife of William de Fyenles, after having received her oath not to marry without the king’s licence. (S) CIsPM of William.

Joan married 2nd Sir Stephen de Valence (Valognes). [1 daughter]

2/16/1370, IPM of Adam de Sahreshull. Oxford: … Escote. The manor, … the reversion to the said William de Fienlys and Joan his wife … William is dead, and the reversion ought to fall to Joan, who is now the wife of Stephen de Valence, for her life …  and after her death to John son and heir of the said William, who is a minor aged 13 years and more in the king’s wardship. 10/18/1370, To escheator in Oxfordshire. Order to take into the king's hand the manors of Escote and Lynham … and to deliver them with the said issues to Stephen de Valence and Joan his wife to hold during her life … which are of the heritage of John de Fienes a minor in the king's wardship … gave the said reversion to the said William Fienles (now deceased) and Joan his wife, whom Stephen de Valence has now taken to wife … (S) CCRs.
