1715, Agnes born in ?, d/o §John Snodgrass.

~1725, John married Sarah Rogers in Ireland.

John was a Capt. of foot soldiers.

~1735, John immigrated from Ireland to PA with his brother Col. James Patton, and his sister Elizabeth. [John’s uncle, John Lewis immigrated to Philadelphia in 1729.].

3/23/1736, John bought 200 acres of land in Lancaster Co., PA; [later part of WV].

4/1744, John bought 200 more acres.

John moved to Augusta Co., VA [later Pendleton Co., WV.] John built his home on the south branch of the Potomac river near the present town of Franklin. John called his land “The Buffalo Meadows”.

Sarah died in Augusta Co.

3/23/1754 in Augusta Co., VA, John married Agnes.

5/22/1755, John Patton Sr sold 453 acres to John Dunckle.

1757, John died.

3/10/1757, Agnes Patton gave bond of three hundred pounds as executrix of John Patton.

Agnes’ father died in VA.

9/20/1758, Vendue of John Snodgrass’ estate, by Agnes Patton [multiple persons listed as receiving payment from the estate.] (S) Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish settlement in VA, P328.

Agnes married 2nd Andrew Patton and they moved to NC. [Andrew likely a brother or cousin of John.]

Family notes:
• John’s will states he had 8 children by first wife, and 2 daughters by second wife. In his will he names wife Agnes, children William, James, Margaret, Isabel and Agnes. He stated his older children are already “portioned off”.

i. Isabella Anna Patton (161), born 1755 in Augusta Co., VA.

ii. Agnes Patton, born 1756 in Augusta Co., VA.
6/10/1789, Agnes married William Patterson in Montgomery Co., VA.
1843, Agnes died in Giles Co., VA.
