1340, John heir to his father.

2/10/1342, John, of Beaudeport, Sheriff of Devon.

8/26/1346, John [of Somerset] at the battle of Crecy in the retinue of Richard, Earl of Arundell.

1347, John at the siege of Calais.

1347, John of Nettlecombe and Wrenchester, Wales; heir to his uncle Simon.

1347, John gave 20s in aid towards making the Black Prince a knight for half a knight’s fee at Allecheford which Simon de Ralegh [his grandfather] formerly held.

1350, John presented to the church at Alford.

1365, John Knight of the Shire for Somerset.

John married 2nd Ismania Hanham of Gloucestershire.

John eventually inherited all of the family lands upon the death of his 2 brothers without heirs.

1368-9, John granted a charter of all his tenements in “Wrenchelston in Wales” to the rector of Nettlecombe.
