1473, “John Spencer ‘of Wormleighton and Hodnell’ had joined in diverse deeds of feoffment Sir Edward Raulighe of Farneborowe Kt. and others”. [John’s seal was quartered with those of his wife, Warsted, and mother’s, Lincolne, families.]

1476, John and his brother Thomas named executors in their father’s will. John’s mother Isabel appointed overseer.

3/4/1476, John’s father died.

1478-79, John’s mother died.

1479, “John Spencer ‘of Wormleighton and Hodnell’ had joined in diverse deeds of feoffment with Sir Edward Raulighe of Farneborowe Kt. and others”.

My wife Joane ; my son Thomas ; my daughter Elizabeth ; my daughter Jane, wife of William Cope. I appoint my nephew William Spencer, Joan, wife of Walter Graunt, and my nephew John Spencer (of Snitterfield, heir of his brother William) my executors.’ (S) Testamenta Vetusta, Nicolas, 1826, P427.

·         John’s brother William married Elizabeth Empson.

·         John “of Hodnell” in Warwickshire, Esq., the father of a great sheep-farming family of south Warwickshire.

i. Thomas Spencer, born ~1445 in England.

Thomas heir to John.

Thomas married Margaret Smith of Wold.

Thomas died without issue – Jane became heir to Thomas.

ii. Johane Spencer (237691), born ~1450 in England.
