~1685, Jean born in Mezieres, Reims in Champagne, France.
Jean and his son traveled to colonial LA.
1/1/1726 Census of Louisiana at Cannes Brulees: Francois Dauphin, wife, child. [He is listed next to his son and indentified as “father”.]
10/1726, “Dauphin” listed as a person of Cannes Brulees requesting Negros from the John Law company.
2/17/1727 in N.O., LA, Jean attended his son’s wedding.
7/1/1727 Census of N.O. “along the river”: Francois Dauphin, wife, 2 children. [His son is listed next to him.]
1731 Census of N.O. “along the river”: Dauphin Senior [Dauphin “sons” listed next to him.]
4/23/1731, Jeanne Gerandalle died “upstream of the river”, interred in N.O. (S) SLC, B1, P65.
11/20/1731 in N.O., Jean, a widow and “resident upstream of the river”, married 2nd Jeanne Duchemin. (S) SLC, B1, P53. Many people attended the wedding.
12/3/1731 in N.O., Jean the godfather to his grandaughter Marie Jeanne Dauphin.
5/29/1732 in N.O., LA, Jean attended his son’s wedding.
1732, [They apparently sold their land and moved to N.O.] Mr. Carrier purchased land on the east bank along the river from “the Dauphin family, father and son.”. Mr. Benac purchased land from Dauphin and Pugeau.

• Marie Jean Dauphin, d/o Joseph, Captain of arms at Brest, and Elizabeth Perin married Jean Baptiste Burgeron on 4/4/1725 in N.O. (S) SLC, M1, P82.

Children of Jean and Jeanne:

i. Jean Joseph Dauphin ( 454), born in ~1705 in Charleville, Reims, France.
