Family notes:

·         A possibility: will of John Bancks, citizen and mercer of London, dated 5/20/1630, identifes a large extended family including an uncle Christopher Banckes who had children Christopher, Anne, Mary & Alice. John asked to be buried in the Chancel of St. Michaels where his parents and 2 wives were buried. To show that the Bancks family of London was wealthy: given to his only daughter Anne, half his personal estate – £8000 and a chest full of items. Funeral expenses allocated – 2000 marks. A great pot of silver valued at £25 sterling was to be given to each of 2 churches. 30 kindred were to be given rings of gold valued at £3 each. 100 rings of gold valued at 40s each to kindred and friends. 100 rings of gold valued at 20s each to familiar friends. £50 allotments were made to various relatives. Katherine Banckes, Christopher Banckes and John Banckes are also mentioned as relatives in the will of Dame Katherine Barnardiston dated 2/25/1632.
