1575, A lawsuit between John Hall and John Stevens of
Bradford, butcher. Stevens stated that 'John Hall, son of Thomas Hall esq.
deceased is, and his ancesters have for a long time been seised of certain water
mills and other lands' in the manor of Bradford, which had been held of the
abbey of Shaftesbury and after the Dissolution of the grantees of the abbey's
lands in Bradford by a rent of 75s. a year and suit at the court of the manor. [In
west Wiltshire, 8 miles SE of Bath. The river is the “Bristol” Avon.]
4/25/1581, John and Dorothy left extensive items in the will
of her father – as well as their children, his grandchildren.
6/5/1592, John arranged for his son John’s wedding to
Elizabeth Brune for consideration of £600.
1597, John died seised of the manors of Bradford &
Little Troll.
9/1/1620, Dorothy died.
