John, goldsmith of London, married Grace Stegge, step-neice to William’s wife Hannah, d/o Elizabeth ( 2875). [According to eldest son William he was honest, but neither wealthy nor influential.]
3/31/1670, “Mrs Grace Byrd” wife of John named as the sister of Thomas Stegge Jr in his will.
1677, John died in London.

~1700, William, of Westover VA, petition to the King for a coat of arms. This petition established the family line back to Henry Le Byrd ( 11488).
