• His first home was near his father’s in CovCo., MS.
• He moved to present StnCo. about the same time as his father. He built a substantial home in the “Flint and Red Creek” area called Chinquapin, near Big Level.
• When Elisha Bond married Nancy she was only 13 years old. Her mother, Elizabeth, had just become a widow. There were still four siblings younger than her in the household. Elizabeth later married Elisha’s father. She was 14 at the birth of her first child. She spun her own wedding dress from material imported from Spain. This dress was last known to be in the possession of Mrs. Marteal Ingram in 1959.
• Many genealogies list Minurva E Bond and Sarah Bond as children of Elisha, probably because Minurva lists her parents as being born in GA [which she probably believed]. These [the researcher believes] are actually children of William Bond (No. 64ii), as supported by substantial evidence from family records and census information, as well as birth dates and Zilpha’s death date, and no supporting evidence for Elisha.
